YuMe, Azureus To Launch Dynamic Ads In Online High-Quality Video
Content On Vuze
Redwood City, CA and Palo Alto, CA—April 16, 2007—YuMe, the first dedicated advertising network created and optimized for broadband video, and Azureus, a global leader in aggregating and distributing long-form, high quality video via the Internet’s most popular media peer–to–peer (P2P) application, announced today they have launched an innovative online service allowing targeted advertising within high–quality (DVD/HD quality) broadband video content on Vuze (www.vuze.com). For the first time, advertisers will be able to incorporate dynamic, customized ads within online video content and optimize as they would with keyword placements. As part of the service, YuMe will also integrate a new technology that protects brand integrity as it attaches advertising to contextually relevant content that can then be safely delivered to any device – from PC to portable.
Using YuMe’s powerful broadband video advertising network, Azureus will deliver dynamic, targeted video advertising within select licensed and self–published content available on its newly unveiled content discovery platform, Vuze.com. Formerly code– named Zudeo, the Vuze service enables a robust community of millions to browse and discover high–quality user generated content and premium content from worldwide media companies and top tier independent publishers.
With YuMe, Azureus can now track when and where viewers download its ad–supported content, how often they view it and how they interact with ads. Armed with this information, advertisers can utilize the integrated YuMe platform to better target ads and get real–time measurement and feedback on campaign performance to better optimize ad placements and dollars. YuMe opens the door for Azureus to provide advertisers with unique placement opportunities within Vuze.com content, such as geo-targeted pre–roll, post–roll and mid–roll ad customizations, interactive watermarks and content sponsorships. With video advertising still in its infancy, YuMe’s inventory optimization tools help both publishers and advertisers determine the optimal mix of content and ads.
“YuMe gives our advertising partners the ability to optimize campaigns by targeting day– parts, demographics and even regions of the country, much like current TV advertising,” said Gilles BianRosa, CEO, Azureus. “With this added feature of offering ad–supported, High Definition content, we can provide a wider range of options to our viewers that hasn’t previously been possible.”
YuMe, launched earlier this year, already is powering a list of “firsts” in online video advertising. Just two weeks ago, YuMe became the first to deliver dynamic advertising in peer–to–peer downloads and is the first ad network that can examine UGC content on the fly, separating unsafe from brand safe, giving advertisers and web publishers access to a huge and growing inventory of video on the Web. In addition,YuMe gives web publishers for the first time the ability to categorize and index all the video on their sites so they can make advertising more contextually relevant to the content in which it appears.
“We enable advertisers to engage viewers in innovative ways so partnering with a ground–breaking company like Azureus, and its enhanced broadband distribution and discovery platform Vuze, was a natural fit,” said Jayant Kadambi, CEO and co–founder, YuMe. “We look forward to bringing to market more cutting edge solutions for advertisers, Web publishers and viewers and introducing more firsts in online video advertising.”
